Postsecondary studies are a launching pad to do important work. So many of us have been privileged with endless potential, and making the most out of our opportunities is the best way to be grateful for the position we are in.
Seth Godin, an author, entrepreneur and marketing guru, summarized this thought quite nicely it the following post :
A great way to give thanks…
For the privileges we’ve got is to do important work.
Your job, your internet access, your education, your role in a civilized society… all of them are a platform, a chance to do art, a way for you to give back and to honor those that enabled you to get to this point.
For every person reading this there are a thousand people (literally a thousand) in underprivileged nations and situations that would love to have your slot. Don’t waste it.
Once we become aware of our true privilege and opportunity, building a career with purpose and direction becomes the only path forward. We all have an opportunity to do something special with our studies and careers, and it’s up to us to seize the moment and drive focus and alignment into what we do. It is through this process that we can leverage an enlightened career to build better lives for ourselves and for others.
